Updates, Thingys (Not in the Wrong Way), and Currently Readings

This has been my life for the past month, people.

Hello darlings!

So I've guessed you noticed the blog's been pretty empty lately? Honestly, I don't think 2013 has been the year for me in regards to book blogging. (It's definitely been the year for amazing releases though. All these 2013 books made me broke in February, and am currently still broke. *sniffles* THERE'S SO MANY BOOKS COMING OUT EVERY TUESDAY AND MY HEAD AND MY MONEY CAN'T KEEP TRACK. I refuse a ban though. I refuse. I cannot do it.) I didn't start off strong at all in January, managing only 4 posts. I think a big part of that though is because I was in this horrible giant reading slump, which looking back on really makes me want to stomp on it, that started back in late December of 2012, and continued all the way to early April 2013.

I've escaped the grasp of the terrible slump though (thank you, re-reading), and if you've noticed, I've been slowly getting back into blogging and posting - although mostly overdue reviews are what's been going up. But posts are posts, and you won't be able to believe how relieved I am that I still love blogging. I was so worried for the longest time that I might have been losing that want to write reviews, because when I sat down to do it, I either got distracted or just didn't want to do it all. Blogging shouldn't be a chore, and this is something you've heard countless times, but this is something to do for fun.

Reviewing should be an outlet for your feelings, a way to let it all out as a passionate book lover. Blogging, and eventually meeting other bloggers, should all be fun. You're getting to know people you can talk to and fangirl with about all your favorite books, and maybe occasionally argue a bit. (*cough* Jeb over Morpheus always, Nikki. NOBODY TELL HER I SAID ANYTHING. *cough*)

So when I started feeling like I was being forced to sit in front of a computer and write, I just started beginning to stop doing it. I tried to make sure I had some content up, but definitely not an overwhelming amount. The odd break I took from blogging was really beneficial to me, but I think I'm ready to start getting back in the hang of things. I have a lot of posts scheduled, some giveaways planned for all your loyal, lovely readers, and a lot more that I hope will be worth sticking around for.

This might be a bit late, but here's to hopefully another year of great books! *cheers*

Now on to some other updates!

So I thought I'd answer some of the most frequently asked questions for you guys today. Here goes nothing!

Where are Isabelle and Sarah?
Oh so I'm not good enough for you, huh? Well then. I'm just kidding. It's occurred to me multiple times that I should be able to provide a clear answer, but honestly, I don't know. Particularly Isabelle. BECAUSE SHE'S BEEN SO MIA AND IT MAKESS ME SADDD. COME BACKKKKK. Sarah, however, I know has still been fairly active over on her Goodreads, so if you want to talk to her, I guess that'd be the best way. If you're looking to get in contact with Isabelle, the only thing I can do is refer you to an email address, which is located in the Contact section of Wake Up at Seven.

Why haven't you responded to my email?
I'm sorry! There are a few possible answers to this, though. A) You sent your email to the one listed in the Contact section, which would be wakeupatseven.gmail.com. If that is the case, then I must apologize. I have no access to that email, and so the only alternative I can offer you is to re-send it to: kimberlyho75@yahoo.com. B) If you did sent your message to kimberlyho75@yahoo.com, then it may be A) it ended up in spam, and I don't check spam unless I have a reason to. B) I have received your email and I am the worst person in the world and have not had the time to write back or I'm working on a response.

If you don't think any of the potential reasons fit your case though, please feel free to re-send your email or contact me about it.

What are you currently reading?
I'm glad you asked, because that's what I was about to show you next! So just keep on scrolling down!

Currently Reading (5/19/13):

I've been thinking of doing short posts that update my currently reading, because it'll be easy to put together and it'll spotlight some older or up and coming titles. So lemme know if you guys would like that?

But as of right now, I am currently reading:

Secret for a SongDare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)TwerpFairy Tail, Vol. 09: Fading Wizard (Fairy Tail, #9)A Friendship For Today

Secret for a Song is for a blog tour that's coming around in June. I just started, so I don't know how I feel about it yet. AND OKAY SO I MAY OR MAY NOT BE RE-READING DARE YOU TO BECAUSE IT IT GOOD. I definitely want to review it before it's release date, but again, I can give no promises. Twerp was an unsolicited ARC that arrived, and it sounded interesting, so I'm giving it a shot. I was just craving holding a manga in my hands (that's weird...), so I am re-re-re-reading Fairy Tail volume 9 because I can and it was the first one I saw on my manga shelves. (When I say shelves, I mean shelves.) And last but not least, I'm reading A Friendship for Today for school and I'm surprised at how much better it is than I expected.

I am a bit of an over-achiever. Can you tell?

So here's the last part of this update thingy. On June 3rd, my blog tour stop for Secret for a Song will be up. Yay!

And lastly (I swear!), why haven't we updated our Review Archive in months?

Okay so, a post did go up a while ago on this, but I thought I'd bring it up again. We've been experiencing what I'd guess would be considered a long term problem on an admin issue.

This may sound really weird, but if you aren't familiar with an admin's role, they are basically the all powerful overseer for everything. So basically the person with the admin's role would be the one with the sole ability to work with things like updating the review archive or tour banners. And in our case...

...all this went poof. Into thin air. I am not even kidding.

To my knowledge and best explanation (because we all know I suck when it comes to technical issues, something weird happened and the admin thingy-majingy went bye bye. Honestly, I have no clue how to sort this out by myself and anything I'm getting from Blogger's help page is really...no help.

But I have hope we will fix it one day...probably.

Until then, I'm afraid you guys will just have to put up with us.

AND that concludes it. See? It wasn't that bad. OH MY GOD I FORGOT SOMETHING. I should probably go back up and add it in but I can do it here too, right? Perfectly fine.

You can expect the following reviews to pop up on the blog as soon as they're written soon:

Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1)Fever (The Chemical Garden, #2)
Sever (The Chemical Garden, #3)Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)
The Summer I Became a NerdAl Capone Shines My Shoes
Rules of Entanglement (Fighting for Love, #2)Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)
Black Dawn (The Morganville Vampires, #12)Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires, #13)
Okay, so THAT concludes it. So I'm off now, but look forward to some awesome stuff coming soon!

Much love darlings.
